This fall, the BP’s Scythians: warriors of ancient Siberia exhibit will be on display at the British Museum.
This exhibit will be the first major Scythian exhibition to come to Britain in 40 years, and most of the artifacts included are over 2,500 years old. These artifacts are exceptionally well-preserved, as many of them have been frozen solid for most of that time.
The exhibition will focus on exploring the life and culture of the ancient Scythians, who were known for their fierce warriors and excellent horsemanship. In addition to Scythian weapons, the exhibition will also focus on their diet, clothing, and religious burials.
“It is hugely exciting to be announcing the British Museum’s autumn exhibition on the ancient Scythians and we look forward to sharing their fascinating story with our visitors,” said British Museum director Hartwig Fischer.
