The Australian Society of Authors (ASA) is in the midst of launching their first online marketplace designed to showcase authors’ works to publishers or literary agents.

The ASA’s online marketplace puts negotiating power in the hands of authors, making their work available to an audience of publishing professionals.

The first phase of the program, started in July, brought short stories, poetry, and fiction onto the platform. Children’s, young adult, and non-fiction categories will be added before the marketplace project is completed in 2018.

So far, the platform already has over 150 author entries. Each entry includes an author bio, synopsis of literary works, and works previews. (These required author entries are designed to be viewed by certified professionals scouting out work.)
