This fall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art will host a new art exhibition titled Delirious focused on the embrace of irrationality among American, Latin American, and European artists between 1950 and 1980.
The exhibition will be divided into four parts that represent four experiences or qualities of the mind: Vertigo, Excess, Nonsense, and Twisted.
Nearly one third of the roughly 100 works of art on display will be taken from the Met’s own collection, and the rest will be linked to the Met’s pieces through the theme of irrationality and delirium.
